  Hake's Auctions Offers First Appearance Captain America & The Flash

The current Hake’s auction is online at Hakes.com and closes November 6-7. The auction includes hundreds of CGC-certified comic books as well as thousands of other items.

Some highlights of the auction include Captain America Comics #1, which features the first appearance of Captain America, sidekick Bucky and the villainous Red Skull. This CGC 4.0 Qualified example should appeal to Marvel Comics and Golden Age collectors alike. The historical importance of this key Golden Age book cannot be denied and is sure to draw high interest from fans.

Another highlight in the auction is the first appearance of The Flash (Barry Allen), in Showcase #4 CGC 5.0. Not only notable as the first appearance of the Silver Age Flash, this issue is regarded by many as the official start of the Silver Age of comics, which saw Julie Schwartz’s revitalization of the superhero genre with revamped versions of not only The Flash, but also Green Lantern, The Atom, Hawkman and others.

Other highlights include notable first appearances like Avengers #1 CGC 8.0 (Avengers), Tales Of Suspense #39 CGC 6.5 (Iron Man), X-Men #1 (X-Men, Professor X and Magneto), Amazing Spider-Man #101 CGC 9.8 (Morbius the Living Vampire), Fantastic Four #1 CGC 3.5 (Fantastic Four), Journey Into Mystery #83 (Thor), Detective Comics #359 (Batgirl) as well as other key books like the iconic Amazing Spider-Man #1 CGC 6.0, Detective Comics #33 CGC 1.0 (featuring the origin of Batman) and the scarce Brenda Starr #14 CGC 8.0.
